Health Insurance

Health care services can be costly. Health insurance is an agreement between an individual and a health insurance company to pay for certain medical care and services. Having a health insurance will ensure you get quality care without suffering great financial losses. A health insurance plan will protect the health of a person by ensuring access to health care services. It lowers the amount you would have to pay for a high cost care. For instance, emergency room services costs almost $1,000, the cost of childbirth can be up to $8,000 or more than $10,000 for C-section delivery, the cost of having a hip replacement is more than $30,000. The costs are scary if you spend that amount from your pocket. However, with a good health care plan, you can protect yourself from such medical bills (Green, 2020). Health insurance covers individuals for a wide range of medical service such as preventive and non-preventive care. It also covers emergency care services. Having a health insurance will give you comfort since there is limit of how much you will spend in case of a costly health care. Most health plans, pay for preventive care. This will give you peace of mind since you and your family can get these services at no extra cost.

A health insurance is an agreement to have the insurance company cater for your medical costs. One is supposed to pay a premium, which is usually done monthly. In most cases, a health plan has a deductible which you pay out of your pocket. Thus, the insurance company shares the costs above the deductible. For instance, a health plan may cover up to 80% of the medical costs. You will only need to pay 20%.
