MCOs is an abbreviation that stands for Managed Care Organizations. It is a health body situated in the United States to deliver quality healthcare to the citizens via a system that is aimed at enhancing efficiency as well as offering health maintenance at a reduced cost. This system is managed by the Health Care Authority through public funding, from the Federal Government to the State Government. Its regulation is dependent on the project sponsors and the risk bearer who takes the initiative of paying for the insured services. In this case, the federal government is responsible for modulating managed healthcare and other health plans as well, financed by private sector employers.
Additionally, this body also is responsible for things like taking contracts with insurers or self –insured employers as well as finances and delivers wellness program using a particular provider network and specific services and products.
